Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning System Cleaning
The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and air duct system in your home can be a contributor to poor indoor air quality. Inspection of your ductwork should be part of your regularly scheduled maintenance. Contaminants, odors, and irritating dust can be circulated throughout your home by dirty air ducts.
Call ESPO Fire & Water to inspect and clean your HVAC system to ensure your equipment operates at peak performance for years to come.
Air Duct Cleaning
The air duct cleaning process includes cleaning of the heating and cooling components of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. Usually these components include supply and return air ducts, heating and cooling coils, heat exchangers, grills and diffusers, fan motor housings, condensation drain pans, and air handling unit housings. Our experts use specialized tools on the HVAC system to dislodge any dirt and debris, which they then remove with a high-powered, high-efficiency particle air (HEPA) vacuum.
Cleaning dirty cooling coils and fan and heat exchangers can improve the efficiency of your heating and cooling system, according to EPA studies. You can reduce the risk of allergic reactions or other adverse health effects by physically removing contaminants such as mold, dust or pollen that may accumulate in air ducts.
Mold Cleanup and Evaluation
If an inspection confirms the presence of active mold growth in your building, ESPO Fire & Water Restoration will perform a six-step removal process that guarantees the total elimination of the harmful fungus from your property. Here’s what we do:
- Full Damage Assessment – First we examine your building for mold colonies and its spores, using the latest mold detection techniques. This allows us to determine the extent of the mold and helps us provide you with an accurate estimate of the project’s total cost.
- Water Extraction and Dehumidification – To kill mold and prevent its return, we need to remove every last trace of water and moisture from the area because water is the basic catalyst for mold growth. We discover and extract unwanted water in your home, then brings in industrial-grade dehumidifiers to normalize indoor water vapor levels.
- Damage Containment – After your property is dried we will seal off the affected areas with plastic barriers that restrict air and spore movement to prevent the further spread of the fungus and its possible recurrence.
- Content Damage Evaluation – As part of our damage assessment process, our technicians will examine every piece of clothing, furniture and floor covering to determine what can be salvaged.
- Disinfection – Our team uses negative ion technology to kill the mold. We eliminate the fungus on surfaces or in the air. The professional technique is tough on mold but gentle on your property.
After the mold demolition has been completed, the experts from ESPO Fire & Water thoroughly clean the work area, removing all dust and debris. We use conditioned new air to dilute the air in the containment area during the purging process. Then we combine HEPA vacuuming with damp wiping to ensure that minimal moisture remains on surfaces. Between cleaning rounds we allow time for the settling of dust and spores.
A post-remediation evaluation is conducted by the project manager or supervisor to confirm that the remediation process was completed to specifications. Then an Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) performs a thorough examination that includes a sensory inspection of the containment area. The IEP must verify that all visible dust and debris, malodors, and contaminated materials have been removed and the project has been successfully completed.
